About Lauriane

Lauriane hails from Valence, in the South East of France. She started learning the keyboard at the age of 9, playing children classic songs and pop/rock classic hits (ABBA, The Beatles...). She moved on to the piano 2 years later, playing mostly classical and jazz pieces.
At 20, she took up the Irish fiddle, joining in music sessions, workshops and festivals across Ireland and France. In 2013, she had a few lessons from 1993 All-Ireland fiddle champion, Aíne Mcgrath, which gave a good boost to her playing style. In 2020, she added the concertina to her belt, and taking some valuable music lessons from well-known Clare concertina player Jacqueline McCarthy.
Having spent some time in the West of Ireland from 2015, Lauriane now lives in Galway city, Ireland since 2018, where she joins in sessions and gigs with her duo "the Fleadhwers" around the city's venues and also helps run the Galway slow trad sessions, which she co-founded with Ryan Crowell since she moved to Galway.
